The rivers, streams and surf beaches are ideal for land-based fishing in Apollo Bay with the possibility of catching trout or native blackfish as well as salmon during winter. However, the most popular locations for fishing is the local pier.
Like other fishing locations, Apollo Bay fishing hours are around sunrise / sunset (times vary depending on the season). For more information, talk to the experts at the local Visitor Information Centre.
While in town, be sure to check out a section of the iconic Great Ocean Walk. Allowing walkers to do short walks & day hikes, the Great Ocean Walk weaves in and out of the National Park, coastal landscapes and rocky shores from Apollo Bay to the 12 Apostles.
