"The cooler months of winter are the quietest time to visit the Great Ocean Road, also making it the cheapest when looking for accommodation in the area. It does get pretty cold by Australian standards, but don’t let that frighten you off, there are plenty of reasons to visit during this time. The increased rain fills the waterfalls and creeks and the wild weather in the Southern Ocean makes witnessing the waves smash against the 12 Apostles a mesmerising experience. May – October is also the best time to spot whales along the Great Ocean Road as they migrate from the cooler waters of the south" (source: www.greatoceanroadmelbournetours.com.au).

"Soak up the spray as the Hopetoun Falls plummet 30 metres into the Aire River in the Great Otway National Park. Take in the view from the upper platform, or descend some 200 stairs leading through glades of tree ferns to the base of the falls" (source: www.visitmelbourne.com).

Some days are just for enjoying sunsets and rises, the sun sparkling on the ocean, the rain reviving the greens, and simply being grateful for the beautiful environment around us - for everyone to enjoy if we all look after it. Take your rubbish and keep our beaches and forests clean. 🙏

“A strong geomagnetic storm brought on by a solar flare caused the natural phenomena to be especially vivid on Monday morning. […] A blob of gas that had been ejected from the Sun about three or four days earlier actually impacted on the Earth’s magnetosphere. Professor Andrew Cole, an astrophysicist at the University of Tasmania, said conditions to see the aurora will remain “pretty favourable” this week because the Earth’s magnetic field is still disturbed, and there’s still a lot of energy being converted into light.” (source: www.theage.com.au)
