Q1 — Best tips for foodies
It’s an impossible choice between house-roasted coffee and cake up the back of town at Hello Coffee, and Little Crumb bakery’s almond croissants at the Saturday foreshore market. Both are as fresh as it gets, and highly addictive.

Q2 — Best view for sunrise or sunset
The harbour has the best views in town — for eating fish and chips at sunset, or watching the sun rise over the boats.

Q3 — Best place to soothe your mind
Walking any section of the Great Ocean Walk is wonderful relaxation. Marengo to Blanket Bay is my favourite day walk — it takes you along windswept beaches, coastal scrub, and inland through rainforest gullies.

Q4 — Best tip for top fun
I’m not exactly a party animal…so kayaking and snorkelling with friends at Marengo reef. There’s a seal colony and amazing marine life.

Q5 — Best Summer tip
Dooleys icecream, beach, rinse and repeat.

Q6 — Best Winter tip
Whale watching from the main beach — some days they come right into the bay.

Q7 — A secret you’re willing to share
Marengo Nature Conservation Reserve — it’s this little pocket of protected coastal heath and bushland at the back of Marengo. It’s habitat for lots of koalas, wallabies, echidnas, and some endangered wildflowers. Great for bird watching too.
